Yesterday I really wanted cake. So I made it...

... and got halfway through baking before I realized I had no frosting. Oops. I have a number of frosting recipes saved on Pinterest so I thought I'd give one a try. This one from Wine and Glue seemed easy enough to follow (it was!) and I had the ingredients.*

*Well mostly.. I had to substitute the butter for margarine since that's what I had.

Very easy to make and came out pretty well, despite my substitutions. I'm definitely going to try this again and maybe even get adventurous and try different extracts to mix up the flavor. It made enough frosting to cover the cake and have some left over.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
5 cups powdered sugar
2 tsps vanilla
1/4 cup milk

Directions

To make frosting, beat the butter until fluffy.
Then add the powdered sugar gradually, one cup at a time.
Add in the vanilla and milk.
