Pound Cake

I came across a pound cake recipe by Creations by Kara that claimed to be easy.

And it was. Though, if I'm being 100% honest, I had to make it twice because I goofed the first time.

Piece of advice? When doubling recipes, make sure you double ALL of the ingredients. Not just most of them. Oops. My husband's aunt had given us a Bed, Bath, and Beyond gift card for Christmas. I came across a Wilton 18in x 4.5in loaf pan and new I had to have it. (Disclaimer: I love buying baking stuff, especially if they're not something you normally see.) Hence doubling the recipe.

Easy recipe to follow and it received rave reviews from our dinner guests. Would definitely make again.

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla, almond, or lemon extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 eggs

Directions

Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Blend in milk and extract. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Beat till smooth.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Pour into a well greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 300° for about 90 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 5 minutes, then remove to a cooling rack. Cool completely.
