My first attempt at making a pie! Prior to today, I had never made a pie. Last weekend, my husband and I went apple picking with a friend of ours and I picked some specifically to bake with. (So you should expect at least one more apple recipe in the near future, since I still have some left!) Last Christmas another friend of mine gave me two pie dishes as a gift (and encouragement) to make my own pies. Next time I'd play around with the crust more but it's not bad for a first attempt.

The apples!

I do own an apple corer but this seemed so much easier. Gets rid of the core and makes cutting slices simpler.

Before baking. Mine is a little less Dutch crumb, mostly because I used a hand mixer.
